Identify, communicate, and advance key regulatory initiatives to support the Company’s strategic regulatory objectives
Collaborate with state teams and regulatory stakeholders to advocate favorable outcomes, monitor regulatory developments, and shape effective strategies
Facilitate and promote regular interactions between Company representatives and regulatory stakeholders
Advocate for favorable regulatory outcomes through strategic engagement and messaging
Develop and execute initiative-focused communications with regulatory stakeholders
Participate in and assess the effectiveness of regulatory communications and strategies
Support development and maintenance of strong relationships with key individuals in regulatory agencies and trade organizations
Track and evaluate regulatory outcomes from jurisdictions the Company operates in
Develop responsive strategies to address regulatory challenges and opportunities
Educate state regulatory leaders on emerging regulatory trends and collaborate on state-specific strategies
Work cross-functionally to ensure alignment and consistency in regulatory messaging and initiatives
Promote effective communications at industry conferences and forums
Represent the Company in external meetings, conferences, and stakeholder engagements
Mentor and guide less experienced colleagues in regulatory strategy and stakeholder engagement
Lead and manage projects, facilitate meetings, and prepare exhibits and testimony to support regulatory initiatives
Provide technical solutions and analysis on national issues
Prepare communications that respond to requests from commissions or comply with regulatory needs
Provide research and comparative analyses of complex public utility issues, trends and best practices
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, business or a closely related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum of 6 years prior experience in the utility industry and/or shared service or multi-company corporation
Seasoned professional
Ability to travel up to 70%
